Ivanka Trump recently tweeted that the United States needs to focus on promoting physical activity for the country’s children, or else risk raising a generation of unhealthy kids. She cited a survey to support her statement, noting that 9.5 million children in the United States have not once participated in an assorted list of sports and activities.
We need to promote healthy lifestyles for America’s youth. In a recent survey, 9.5 million U.S. children reported that they did NOT once participate in any of over 100 sports or activities listed. #YouthSports @AspenInstitute

However, her father has gutted many of the health initiatives, including several programs enacted by former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Ret. Gen. Mark Hertling, who served almost four decades in the U.S. Army, proceeded to lambaste Ivanka, noting that the President’s Council on Fitness, Sport, and Nutrition can be used for health education, but the once thriving agency of 25 appointees is now empty under the Trump administration.
Ummm…there’s this thing called the President’s Council on Fitness, Sport, and Nutrition. Been around 60 years. Used to have 25 appointees…I was one of them. @MichelleObama helped & generated momentum in this area. No one is on the Council now. @FitnessGov. Check it out. https://t.co/R6xh1n0Qi7

The President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition – or PCSFN – is an organization that helps to promote and encourage Americans to become physically active. It’s also a vehicle to help teach about children’s health issues.
Ivanka tweets to make herself look good, but there is very little action behind her words.
What Exactly Has Ivanka Trump Done in the White House?
Not much of anything. Ivanka reportedly has an office in the White House, near the Oval Office. She isn’t being paid, does not have an official role, and has not been sworn in. Her presence can be seen as disrespectful to the White House, as she is undermining anti-nepotism laws, a factor that seems to rank highly in Trump’s administration.
Ivanka, however, seems focused on building her brand while having proximity to the White House. Her position as an ad-hoc “adviser” affords Ivanka a global platform to her clothing and beauty products and allows her the opportunity to flesh out her persona. Even John Kelly, the White House’s chief of staff, privately accused her of “playing government.”
They all are, General.
