Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders just wrapped up her Thursday press conference and it was one for the books.
After denying that Trump knew about the hush money payment to Stormy Daniels, basing it upon her own conversation with the president, Sarah Huckabee back-peddled her statement and claimed she was misled by her boss.
When reporters asked about the White House’s general trustworthiness, referencing back to Trump’s latest admission regarding his knowledge about the transactions made to Daniels, Sanders responded by practically pointing the blame on Trump.
“Obviously the press team’s not going to be as read-in, maybe, as some other elements, at a given moment, on a variety of topics. But we relay the best and most accurate information that we have, and we get those from those individuals.”
In this case, “those individuals” would be Trump himself, since he is the one relaying the information (lies) to Sanders. This was not Sanders blaming anonymous White House aides for the botched facts; she clearly said in March she was relying on a conversation she had with President Trump.
Manu Raju, Senior Correspondent to CNN, reported from the press pool:
Trump appears to have lied to his press secretary to mislead public. @acosta asks if Sanders lied in March or was in dark when she said she spoke to Trump who denied involvement in Stormy payments and denied all allegations. “I gave you the best information I had at the time”

Sanders also mentioned she didn’t find out Trump reimbursed Michael Cohen until last night, says she doesn’t know Trump filed a fraudulent personal financial disclosure form. She’s either lying again or she’s essentially saying Trump lied to her and told her he didn’t know about the payment.

She’s either lying again or she’s essentially saying Trump lied to her and told her he didn’t know about the payment. Either way, the White House has lost every ounce of credibility, the American people will not trust an administration who can’t even get their lies straight.
