Donald Trump’s Twitter account serves as a daily embarrassment not only to America but pretty much the entire human race. It is filled with some of the most insane, inaccurate, and mean-spirited remarks on the social media platform — so much so that the president has single-handedly ruined First Lady Melania Trump’s own agenda to tackle cyberbullying — because her husband is the biggest offender of all!
However, there’s something even more disturbing and bizarre about Trump’s Twitter account. Thanks to a new report by the Boston Globe, it now appears we know that Trump doesn’t write all of his tweets. That seems pretty insane considering that Trump’s schedule is more relaxed than the average American’s — he should have plenty of time to tweet between his golf sessions and commercial breaks on Fox News. Then again, he probably has his aides helping him during more important announcements, which wouldn’t be surprising.
Here’s the real shocking part about it — apparently, his aides deliberately dumb down his tweets with errors to make them seem like Trump is writing them!
Yes, the president is so intellectually challenged that his own aides are afraid to make him seem of average intelligence, free of grammatical errors and cohesive sentences! The report states:
“Presidential speechwriters have always sought to channel their bosses’ style and cadence, but Trump’s team is blazing new ground with its approach to his favorite means of instant communication. Some staff members even relish the scoldings Trump gets from elites shocked by the Trumpian language they strive to imitate, believing that debates over presidential typos fortify the belief within his base that he has the common touch.
His staff has become so adept at replicating Trump’s tone that people who follow his feed closely say it is getting harder to discern which tweets were actually crafted by Trump sitting in his bathrobe and watching “Fox & Friends” and which were concocted by his communications team.”
According to the Globe, White House employees must also go through a process where they submit sample tweets to the president for approval if he has to tweet on a particular topic. Sometimes he will even edit it further before sending it out.
I don’t know about you, but this seems like an awful lot of time spent on perfecting Trump’s Twitter personality. If Trump spent even half of that time fixing the messes he is creating in the country, we wouldn’t be where we are now.
