Donald Trump has been filling up his entire Twitter line with inaccurate brags about how he is “making America great again,” yet most of it is just hot air. From what we have seen during his presidency so far, Trump has failed to come through on almost every single one of his promises, and the policies he does manage to get through are absolute disasters (like his infamous tax cut for the rich).
Today is a day like any other, in which we’re reminded of Trump’s blatant incompetence. Earlier today, Trump signaled that the trade talks between the United States and China would need to be re-evaluated and he gave an excuse that we could only expect from Trump, the laziest Commander in Chief this country has ever witnessed. Trump actually said that the current trade talks seemed “too hard to get done.”
Trump tweeted at 4:55am:
“Our Trade Deal with China is moving along nicely, but in the end we will probably have to use a different structure in that this will be too hard to get done and to verify results after completion.”
(Sigh). Maybe if Trump would golf, tweet, and watch television less, he could figure it out without having to start from square one. Trump hasn’t given any other details about what he or his administration is going to do in terms of making changes to ongoing negotiations. Unfortunately, a lack of specifics or a plan is pretty routine for the Trump administration at this point.
This tweet comes a day after Trump spoke to reporters and told them that he was not pleased with how current trade talks were going, but that they “were a start.”
Representatives for the White House have not given any response after the president’s statement yet.
